I am concerned about the increasing amount of public land that is being earmarked for privatisation under your government, in my electorate. Last week the Merri-bek community was made aware of your government’s plans to privatise the former Kangan TAFE site in Coburg. Minister, I have previously asked you whether your government would consult with the community about this site at 31 The Avenue, Coburg, given significant community interest in retaining the site for community use and public benefit. Unfortunately your office responded with information about the wrong site, specifically 12–18 Charles Street, Coburg North. Minister, given the growing waiting list for public housing and the worsening housing crisis, will your government retain this land to build desperately needed public housing across the site?
