 Katherine COPSEY (Southern Metropolitan) (12:53): (813) My question is to the Minister for Housing. Minister, existing public housing residents at 1–9 Alamein Avenue in Ashburton in my electorate remain concerned over a number of issues. Homes Victoria have been relocating residents off the site over the past four years, and in that time maintenance and cleaning of the site has significantly deteriorated. Even though 36 units are now empty, 1–9 Alamein Avenue remains home to 10 existing residents. Those residents and residents in the surrounding community want to know what the plan for the site will be. Surely the minister would not purposely move people out of their homes and allow these homes to fall into disrepair in a housing shortage, and it seems beyond absurd in a housing shortage to let this large tract of public housing land lay vacant for years. Minister, my constituents want to know what your plans for these public homes are. Are you planning to redevelop this site? What is the time line, and what is the proposed number of private and public homes at 1–‍9 Alamein Avenue?
