We have all experienced a situation where you drive down a road at a crawling speed because of roadworks but look around and there appears to be nobody working. A constituent called my office because he and thousands of other commuters on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway have had this experience for months. He said that there is always a massive bottleneck near the Patterson Lakes turn-off due to roadworks and nobody working there. My question is this: why does it appear to drivers that no work is going on near the Patterson Lakes turn-off of the Mornington Peninsula Freeway, and is it really necessary to cause traffic jams for these commuters every day?
