Ms BATH (Eastern Victoria) (12:26): (1950) My question is to the Minister for Roads and Road Safety. Locals in Leongatha know that the heavy vehicle alternate route stage 1 is a disaster. My constituent, Mr Phillips, who is an avid cyclist and regular user of the rail trail, calls it very dangerous. He often rides along the rail trail, and the intersection of the rail trail—Long Street and Roughead Street—is cause for concern on any given day. Indeed he comments to me that there are many accidents that occur at this intersection and he has no doubt someone will be seriously hurt or even killed. I know my colleague Danny O’Brien in the lower house regularly raises this issue, so on behalf of my constituent I also add my voice. Will the minister deliver the planning finance and capital funding for the Leongatha alternate route stage 2 to fix this debacle of an intersection?
