Mr NEWBURY: Last year St Leonard’s Uniting Church in Brighton launched a coffee cup challenge that encouraged putting aside $4 each week to raise funds for those suffering homelessness. On Sunday the community collected donations and celebrated the last day before Lent. Over $10 000 was raised on the day alone. The church plans to roll out the initiative across the state.
