International Women’s Day
Brad ROWSWELL (Sandringham) (10:34): I rise for a number of reasons. Firstly, I acknowledge on International Women’s Day the incredibly generous contributions of so many women in my community – in Sandringham, Beaumaris, Black Rock, Highett, Hampton, Mentone and Cheltenham throughout sporting clubs, throughout churches, throughout community groups and throughout life saving clubs. Women – mothers, grandparents, aunties – undertake work in our local schools to care for our children and to spend time with them.
I want to thank them for the generous way in which they contribute to our community and to acknowledge that without that generosity our community would be far worse off.
