Mount Duneed schools
Darren CHEESEMAN (South Barwon) (13:13): Today I rise to make my member’s statement on the very fast growing Armstrong Creek growth corridor. The Armstrong Creek growth corridor is Australia’s fastest growing regional growth corridor, and the Labor government since its election in 2014 has been investing in the educational needs of all of those families moving into that Armstrong Creek growth corridor. The western end of the Armstrong Creek growth corridor is the fabulous new Mount Duneed community. That community has been campaigning and making representation for a secondary school for a number of years. Pleasingly, I was able to secure a commitment at the 2022 election to see a business case funded for identifying the needs of that growth corridor. I am very much looking forward to that business case being released at some point this year. That community has wonderful primary schools, and I think really what is now required is a wonderful secondary school to complement that community’s educational needs.
