Vicki WARD (Eltham – Minister for Prevention of Family Violence, Minister for Employment) (16:08): Congratulations to Wattle Glen CFA on their 80th anniversary. Formed in 1944 following the Wattle Glen station fire, which burnt through to Research, Wattle Glen CFA was originally a branch of the Diamond Creek brigade, becoming its own independent brigade in 1965. While there have been many changes over time, it has never waned in its service to our community. I thank the countless volunteers who have devoted so much of their time to helping protect communities locally and across the state; we are grateful. You help protect our communities as well as help connect our communities. I thank those who support our CFA volunteers, the Wattle Glen ladies auxiliary, now the Wattle Glen support group, established in 1962.
