International Youth Day
Natalie SULEYMAN (St Albans – Minister for Veterans, Minister for Small Business, Minister for Youth) (09:40): I rise today to thank all young people and in particular students within my electorate of St Albans who have kindly submitted numerous speeches for an International Youth Day competition. Not only as the local member but as the Minister for Youth, I know that we have a growing and diverse electorate, and I had the opportunity to see firsthand the contribution of young people throughout the west. In particular I do want to send my thankyou to Han from St Albans Secondary College, who wrote to me, and the comment that stood out for me was:
Each and every one of us are different, and in our multicultural community, our differences bring us together and we can work as a team to better our home.
Han could not be more right. We know we have a diverse young community, and the Andrews Labor government continues to invest within the regions within Melbourne for our young people to succeed.
