Petition Upgrade Meeniyan-Promontory Road

emma_hicken@hotmail.com started this petition

The petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council the poor condition of Meeniyan-Promontory Road, which is a vital route for local residents, businesses, school buses, farmers and tourists.

Its condition continues to deteriorate with potholes, rough surfaces and narrow sections creating ongoing safety concerns. These issues make travel more difficult than it should be for agriculture, local residents and visitors to South Gippsland and Wilsons Promontory. There have already been accidents on this road, including an incident involving a school bus carrying children.

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on the Government to provide upgrades to Meeniyan-Promontory Road, including road repairs, resurfacing, widening of key sections, and improved signage to ensure the safety and reliability of this important community route.
