Legislative Assembly Petition: #202602 | closes 25 July 2026

Issue:

This petition of residents in Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Assembly Jacinta Allan's decision to take away from regional CFA resources has caused catastrophic damage to Victoria within the span of weeks. Because of her policies, several thousands of hectares of land have been consumed by bushfires, and it has caused potentially irreparable damage for people. She has in the meantime been posting about the fires and keeping safe, while her and her party are still not providing enough resources for the CFA to fight the fires. Her polices have prevented controlled burns from being done, which normally prevents bushfires from getting out of control. Regional Victoria is actively covered in smoke, causing life-threatening respiratory issues for people several hundreds of kilometres from fires. Her policies are indirectly responsible for the threats to lives and livelihoods resulting from these out of control fires which have the potential to take out several more townships and cause fatalities statewide. Jacinta Allan and the Labor Party are not going to take accountability.

Action:

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Assembly hold an urgent vote of no confidence in the Government for the safety of regional and rural Victoria, to ensure things like this cannot happen again and to force immediate action. We need to allocate resources to get the current and future fires under control, inclusive of relocation of significantly greater resources from Metropolitan, which country Victoria have been providing funding for.
