The petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council that bus services from Riverwalk Estate, King's Leigh Estate and adjoining estates to Werribee Secondary College and MacKillop College need to be increased and urgently reviewed. Residents in these rapidly growing communities are facing significant challenges due to insufficient bus capacity. Many students are unable to board services because buses are already full, resulting in children missing school or arriving late. This situation is placing considerable stress on families. Wyndham City is one of the fastest-growing regions in Victoria and infrastructure must keep pace with this growth. The lack of adequate public transport services, particularly for school routes, is both concerning and frustrating for parents. Many parents are being forced to leave work to drop off and pick up their children, which is neither sustainable nor practical for working families. Given the increasing population and ongoing development in these estates, it is essential that transport services be reviewed and expanded as a matter of priority. Reliable and sufficient school transport is not a luxury, it is a necessity for ensuring students can safely access education, mental wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle.

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on the Government to urgently review and increase bus services from Riverwalk Estate, King's Leigh Estate and adjoining estates to Werribee Secondary College and MacKillop College or consider introducing higher-capacity transport options to support the growing community of Wyndham Vale.
