The petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council the large colony of grey-headed flying-foxes at Rosalind Park in Bendigo. The scale of the colony is causing significant damage to the park including to historic trees due to persistent noise, odour and faecal contamination. This has resulted in significant loss of public space, and is affecting residents, students, businesses, community events and local tourism.
The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on the Government to consider all options to relocate the grey-headed flying-foxes from Rosiland Park in Bendigo.
