The petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council that it is necessary to protect an area of cultural significance to Aboriginal People in particular, the Djabwurrung people, if the Buangor to Ararat Western Highway duplication goes ahead as planned.
The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on the Government to overturn the Buangor to Ararat Western Highway duplication conditions in order to save the cultural heritage and environmental significance of the affected area.
