Legislative Assembly Petition: #202611 | closes 17 August 2026

Issue:

This petition of residents in Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Assembly that there is currently no permanent Marine Rescue facility for the volunteers who provide accredited marine rescue services to the community of, and visitors to, the Gippsland Lakes. These volunteers deliver an essential emergency response service across one of Victoria’s busiest inland waterways, yet they do so without a permanent base located on the Paynesville foreshore.

Action:

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Assembly identify a location for the future base of the Paynesville Coast Guard on the waterfront in Paynesville.
