Petition Annual reporting on the Melton Hospital project

The petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council that the New Melton Hospital is one of the most significant public health infrastructure projects for Melbourne's western growth corridor. As the project is funded by Victorian taxpayers and is expected to serve a rapidly growing population, the community has a strong interest in its timely delivery, financial management and overall progress. Regular public reporting on project expenditure, construction milestones and delivery timeframes would improve transparency, strengthen accountability and provide confidence that the project is being delivered efficiently and in accordance with approved funding and commitments.

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on the Government to require annual public reporting on the new Melton Hospital project, including the approved budget, expenditure to date, project milestones achieved, construction progress, delivery timeframes, significant project risks, variations to cost or schedule, and any corrective actions being undertaken, with each annual report to be tabled in the Parliament and made publicly available.
