Petition Abandon plans to criminalise Palestine solidarity slogans

davidglanz99@gmail.com started this petition

Issue:

This petition of residents in Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Assembly that Palestinians continue to be killed, wounded and made homeless by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank. These are crimes committed by an apartheid state. In the case of Gaza, the International Court of Justice has declared a plausible case of genocide. Yet the Victorian Government has been more concerned to criticise and hamper those Victorians organising against these horrors than to break ties with Israel, its businesses and universities. The Queensland Government has banned the slogans “From the river to the sea” and “Globalise the intifada”. Some two dozen people have been arrested already. The Victorian Government was reported to be considering similar legislation. It is vital that people are free to speak out on the genocide and in support of Palestine.

Action:

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Assembly calls on the Government to sanction Israel by breaking ties with the Israeli military and cyber industrial complex and abandon plans to criminalise Palestine solidarity slogans.
