Budget estimates hearings begin
The Public Accounts and Estimates Committee has commenced 10 days of budget estimates hearings.
Premier Daniel Andrews and Treasurer Tim Pallas were the first to appear before the committee, along with their departmental officials.
The committee is chaired by the Member for Essendon, Danny Pearson, and the deputy is David Morris, the Member for Mornington.
It includes members of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.
The hearings resume on Tuesday 12 May and continue until Friday 22 May.
A range of ministers and departmental officials will answer questions from the committee about the government’s plans to spend public funds over the next four years.
The hearings are being held in the Legislative Council Committee Room at Parliament House and are webcast.
