Saturday, 7 February, 2009

Bushfires rage across parts of Victoria in what became known as Black Saturday. Searing winds and the highest temperature ever recorded in our nation's history (46.4 degrees) resulted in 173 deaths, making this the worst natural disaster in Australia.
