Victoria Harbour floating boom
In relation to advice by Parks Victoria not to proceed with a proposed floating boom in Victoria Harbour, despite receiving a briefing on how the boom would reduce the rubbish entering the harbour by up to 95 per cent:
(1) Why did Parks Victoria reject this proposal despite also stating verbally that they are not responsible for litter entering the harbour, and Melbourne Water, the Environment Protection Authority, Department of Transport and Planning, Development Victoria, and Melbourne City Council stating this in writing.
(2) How will the 35,000 ratepayers in Docklands have a harbour free from litter.
(3) What efforts are being undertaken to investigate low-cost and effective solutions to keep the harbour free from litter, such as the proposed floating boom.
