Legislative Assembly 60 Parliament First Session
3145: Questions on Notice
Martin Cameron to ask the Minister for Roads and Road Safety —

Residents were promised upgrades to the level crossing and intersection at Lloyd Street and Waterloo Road, Moe, six years ago. The Transport Victoria website states that works are expected to begin in 2026:

When in 2026 are works scheduled to commence.

Answer - 13 March 2026

I thank the Member for Morwell for his question.

A key part of this project is connecting the new railway signals with the road design. The Department of Transport and Planning is working with V/Line to design the Lloyd Street railway crossing upgrades, including the relocation of the existing pedestrian crossing, which align with the road safety upgrades. These road and rail designs are anticipated to be completed mid-2026, at which time the construction contract can be tendered.

Other pre-construction activities - including land acquisition and utility service relocations - are currently being finalised to ensure the road construction works can commence in the second half of 2026.

We will continue to keep the community updated as we finalise these pre-construction work and confirm construction timelines.
