2405: Questions on Notice
Martin Cameron to ask the Minister for Transport Infrastructure for the Minister for Housing and Building —

With reference to Government-managed units located at 10 Coates Street in Traralgon:

(1) How many of the units are currently vacant.
(2) What is the reason these public housing units are unoccupied and untenanted during a housing crisis.
(3) If works are required, what is the proposed time frame for their availability.

Answer - 18 August 2025

There is one vacant unit at 10 Coates Street, Traralgon. Units 2 and 3 Coates Street are currently occupied.

Unit 1 was vacated on 14 February 2025. Homes Victoria were legally obliged to follow the Goods Left Behind process, as per Division 3 in Part 9 of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (the Act).

At the conclusion of the Goods Left Behind period, works orders were raised to the Head Contractor to ensure the unit met the minimum standards required within the Act.

Required works have been completed and unit 1 was handed back to Homes Victoria from the Head Contractor on 6 May 2025. The property is currently under offer, having now been offered three times with all three offers being refused.
