With reference to the 50 new early learning and childcare centres announced in November 2022, in which Yallourn North/Glengarry was announced as a location where a service will be up and running by 2028:

(1) When has the Department of Education engaged with the local Glengarry community to determine the most suitable site for the early learning centre.

(2) What type of consultation has taken place with the community regarding the most suitable site for the new early learning centre.

(3) Does the Department of Education have future consultation sessions planned for the community to engage with the process to find the most suitable site for the early learning centre.

Answer - 11 June 2025

Work is occurring on planning and implementation for the Early Learning and Childcare Centre in Yallourn North-Glengarry. This involves consulting with local government and key stakeholders about the needs of the community.

Through this consultation process, the Department of Education considers demographic trends, current childcare supply, accessibility and availability of suitable land.

I trust this information is of assistance.
