(1) Have the pre-construction activities, including design and service relocation works, been completed.

(2) Has the Department of Transport and Planning acquired land for the proposed upgrade.

(3) When will the community be informed of the proposed road construction dates.

(4) When will works commence on the proposed upgrade of the Lloyd Street and Waterloo Road intersection in Moe.

Answer - 4 April 2025

I thank the Member for Morwell for the question.

I am advised by the Department of Transport & Planning (DTP) that Preconstruction activities for upgrading the Lloyd Street and Waterloo Road intersection in Moe are well underway.

DTP has been engaging with V/Line and the Gippsland Line Upgrade (GLU) team to coordinate our road safety works with their upgrades to the Lloyd Street railway crossing. This also requires incorporating rail signalling design into the overall road design. Further questions relating to the GLU are a matter for the Minister for Transport Infrastructure.

In parallel with the integrated design works, the required utility service relocations have been confirmed and these works commenced.

The land acquisition necessary to complete this project is also currently being finalised.

DTP will continue to keep the community informed as pre-construction activities are finalised, and construction dates are confirmed.

Hon Melissa Horne MP

Minister for Ports and Freight

Minister for Roads and Road Safety

Minister for Health Infrastructure
