Providing high-quality, accessible community sport and active recreation infrastructure is a key objective of the Allan Labor Government and is integral to the health and wellbeing of all Victorians.

Funding to upgrade the Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park in Morwell, Ted Summerton Reserve in Moe, and the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium in Traralgon is from the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program, part of the Allan Labor Government’s $2 billion Regional Package announced in 2023.

Sport and Recreation Victoria is working closely with delivery partners Latrobe City Council and Development Victoria to progress planning for upgrades to the Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park, Ted Summerton Reserve, and Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium.

All three projects are currently in the design procurement phase with some minor works packages already started at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium. Major construction works are anticipated to start in 2025 and be delivered in 2026.

The Hon. Ros Spence MP

Minister for Community Sport
