Question details
Morwell electorate
(32) My question is for the Minister for Emergency Services in the other place. The information I seek is on the progress, location and time line of the new Moe Fire Rescue Victoria fire station. On the eve of the November state election, the town of Moe was promised a new Fire Rescue Victoria fire station on the derelict old Baw Baw Hotel site, which has been an eyesore for many years and attracted antisocial behaviour, much to the dismay of the local community. Labor’s candidate for the seat of Morwell posted to Facebook the night before Victorians went to the polls:
A new fire station –
for Moe –
is in the works, and is an investment in Moe’s future, for a Moe we’re all proud of.
Can the minister please provide this progress for the people of Moe?
Plans for the new Moe Fire Station are well advanced, with concept planning now complete and a planning permit being issued in December 2022.
The site, located at 201-209 Lloyd Street, is in the process of being subdivided and this work involves infrastructure connections and demolition of part of an existing building.
The Victorian Government and Fire Rescue Victoria are committed to completing the new Moe Fire Station as soon as possible.
