Legislative Assembly Petition: #202522 | closes 3 December 2025

ninacollins@hotmail.com started this petition

Issue:

This petition of residents in Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Assembly the safety risks faced by students and community members at two crossings: a) Darebin Road at Wilmoth Street; and b) Station Street at Collins Street in Thornbury. These intersections currently lack adequate protections for pedestrians and cyclists and present a safety risk to those using public and active transport, especially school children.

Action:

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Assembly call upon the Government to commission a traffic safety audit of these two intersections in order to obtain expert, evidence-based recommendations for treatments that will improve public and active transport user safety in these areas.
