Petition Covered outdoor learning area for Pascoe Vale North Primary School

Issue:

This petition of certain residents of the State of Victoria draws the attention of the Legislative Assembly to the staged Master Plan that’s been developed by the Pascoe Vale North Primary School (PVNPS) community to inform future capital improvements. The Plan’s identified the construction of a covered outdoor learning area (COLA) with new court surfacing as the highest priority Stage 1 project.  PVNPS is a vibrant school of 350 students and 40 staff, supporting a diverse community, including many families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, who benefit from inclusive, accessible and weather-protected school spaces. A COLA would support students’ access to regular and reliable whole-school assemblies and enhance sport, health and wellbeing, recreational and learning outcomes. A COLA capable of accommodating whole-school gatherings and all-weather physical education would also help support the school and the broader Pascoe Vale North community to hold more out-of-hours events, initiatives and opportunities and meet the school’s need to provide safe and inclusive spaces for community activities.

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Assembly calls on the Government to provide funding support for the construction of a covered outdoor learning area and new outdoor surface at Pascoe Vale North Primary School.
