Standing & Sessional Orders (rules)
Standing Orders are the permanent rules of procedure for the Legislative Council and its committees.
Sessional Orders are temporary rules of procedure that supplement or override the Standing Orders. Sessional Orders only apply for the current Session, that is until and election is called or Parliament is prorogued.
New Standing Orders to take effect from the start of the 59th Parliament were agreed to by the House in September 2018. These will be put on the website prior to the opening of the 59th Parliament.
