The Council has now expired. There will be no further questions without noticeor responses for the 58th Parliament.
Questions Without Notice - written answer directed by the President.
Council Sessional Order 5 (adopted on 12 February 2015) requires all answers to questions without be direct, factual, succinct and relevant. The President may determine an answer to a question without notice or a supplementary question unresponsive and direct the Minister to provide a written response. This response must be lodged with the Clerk by 11.45 a.m. on the next sitting day. A copy of the answer is given to the Member who asked the question and published in the weekly Hansard.
The President may determine that a written response does not appropriately answer the question and may direct the minister to lodge a further written response with the Clerk by 11.45 a.m. on the next sitting day.
A spreadsheet listing all written answers to questions without notice provided at the direction of the President will be finalised and published daily. All answers directed by the President are listed and the date of any answers provided will also be recorded.
