Legistrative Council E-Petitions

E-petition Number
359
Title
Review telehealth restrictions
Grievance
The Petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council that telehealth consultations with General Practitioners (GPs) are not available to patients who have not had a face-to-face consultation within the last 12 months.

Considering Melbourne has been in lockdown for almost 12 months, and GPs are not seeing patients in person if they have any sort of respiratory illness or cold symptoms, it is almost impossible to get an appointment. This is a breach of GPs duty of care and the health of Victorians is being compromised.
Action
The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on the Government to remove any prior face-to-face appointment requirement restrictions for telehealth consultations.
