Views sought on child protection orders
A Victorian parliamentary committee is seeking input into an inquiry on the Children, Youth and Families Amendment Bill 2015.
The existing law concerns the protection of vulnerable children and the use of protection orders.
Chair of the Victorian Parliament’s Legal and Social Issues Committee, Edward O’Donohue, said the inquiry into the Bill is an opportunity for the public to have input into the legislation before Parliament.
“This will be a short but thorough inquiry so that any findings and recommendations made by the Committee may be considered while the legislation is before the Parliament,” Mr O’Donohue said.
The Committee has called for written submissions. Details about how to make a submission or contribute at a public hearing can be found on the Committee’s website: www.parliament.vic.gov.au/lsic
Submissions close on 22 June 2015.
