Inquiry into Country Football

Content and News

On 3 June 2003, the Rural and Regional Services and Development Committee of the Parliament of Victoria received Terms of Reference from the Legislative Assembly to inquire into country football.

The Reference requires the all-party Committee to assess the role and strength of country football, identify the factors in its decline and recommend actions to ensure the future success of country football.

The Committee called for submissions and held public hearings in Melbourne and throughout Victoria. Go to the submissions page to view the submissions received and to the transcripts of evidence page to read the proceedings of the public hearings.

The Committee tabled the report for the Inquiry into Country Cootball on Wednesday 1 December 2004. Copies are available to the public and the report is also published on this website. Copies will also be sent to everyone who participated in the inquiry by writing a submission or giving evidence at a public hearing.

The Government's response to the report on the Inquiry into Country Football is now available on the Report and Response tab.
