Legislation Committee
Function and Operation
The function of the Legislation Committee was to consider in detail a Bill or series of related Bills referred to the Committee by the Council and to report to the Council on the Committees consideration of the Bill, which could include any recommendations for amendments to the Bill(s). Bills could be referred to the Legislation Committee at any time after the second reading and before the third reading stage.
The provisions of the Standing Orders relating to the Legislation Committee were removed in October 2010 and the Committee ceased to exist.
