The Parliament of Victoria is bringing the Parliament to the people in Victoria’s regional centres with its regional visit program which provides school students the opportunity to learn about the Parliament.
Regional visits are comprised of parliamentary information talks and parliament role plays, and are designed for students in years 5, 6, and 7. The sessions are conducted in a local hall or facility chosen to provide easy access for the schools that are attending.
In 2012 the Parliament intends visiting these cities:
Frankston (March)
Rosebud (May)
Geelong (May)
Portland (July)
Ararat (August)
Wangaratta (October)
Morwell (November)
Wonthaggi (December)
If you are unable to come to Parliament House for a tour, and are interested in attending one of our regional visits give us a call and we will bring the Parliament to you!
Each role play and information talk lasts approximately 55 minutes.
The maximum number of students for each role play and information talk is 30.
The Regional visit program is free to all schools. Bookings are essential as places are limited.
To book call Mark Smith (Outreach Program Coordinator) on (03) 9651 8552 or e-mail mark.smith@parliament.vic.gov.au.
