The Parliamentary Library Research Service provides research support to Members of the Victorian Parliament in the performance of their duties, and undertakes research in areas of central and contemporary concern to the Victorian legislature. The Service prepares briefings, publishes statistical surveys and prepares papers on upcoming bills before the Parliament. The Research Service also runs the Internship Program.
Our main publications are in three formats:
• Research Papers, which provide in-depth coverage and detailed analysis of topics of interest
• Current Issues Briefs, which provide an overview of a subject in key legislative, portfolio, or policy areas
• D-Briefs, which provide a short analysis and description of current bills with links to relevant reports and articles.
NB. Readers should note that the information contained in Research Service publications was current at the time of their release.
(For information on bills as enacted visit the Victorian Legislation & Parliamentary Documents website).
