Legislative Assembly: Geelong Regional Sitting

The Legislative Assembly will sit in Geelong on 17 November 2005 in Costa Hall, Waterfront Campus, Deakin University. (On the same day the Council will be sitting in Colac.)

The Regional Sitting will follow a normal sitting day program, and include the usual business agenda with Question Time at 2pm. Other activities will include public and cultural events hosted by the City of Greater Geelong including a Welcoming Ceremony at 9.15am at the Geelong Carousel Pavilion on the Waterfront.

The sitting will coincide with the launch of the Celebrations for the 150th Anniversary of Parliament in Victoria. Celebrations will last right through to November 2006 and include a travelling exhibition which will feature an informative walk through Parliament’s history, showcasing its treasures and many other items rarely seen outside of Parliament.

The sitting in Geelong will only be the second time the Legislative Assembly has sat outside Melbourne . In 2001 the Legislative Assembly sat in Bendigo.
