Party Note: President Carwarp branch 1926 and convenor first Primary Producers Union meeting Ouyen 1926; Country party from 1930; leading critic of Dunstan from 1939, expelled Sept 1945 after supporting no-confidence motion against Dunstan; stood as Independent 1945; government whip 1936-1937.
