Career: Arrived Melbourne Oct 1841 and lived first at Preston where his father had a dairy farm; worked briefly in a grocery business, on a farm, then as an accountant; secretary Dandenong district road board 1858-1873; then secretary and engineer shires of Dandenong and Moorabbin. President Carrum Irrigation Trust. His family founded the township of Keysborough and were prominent Methodists.
