Jobs The Parliament of Victoria has appointed twelve Joint Investigatory Committees, all to consist of up to ten members of Parliament from both Houses. Committees undertake inquiries and their consequent reports are tabled in both Houses of Parliament. These reports play a key role in the development of public policy and legislation. The reports contain influential recommendations for consideration by Parliament, the Government, professional organisations and the wider community. Each committee is supported by a small team of management, research and administrative staff.
Applications are being sought for one full-time Senior Research Officer (Economist/Budget Analyst) and one full-time Senior Research Officer (Audit Compliance). These Senior Research Officers are to be assigned to the Public Accounts and Estimates Committee (PAEC).
In order to be successful in these roles you will require the following skills and experience:
Experience in leading, supervising and managing a group of Research Officers or Analysts
Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation and teamwork skills
Excellent demonstrated research and writing skills
Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
Well-developed organisational, time management, administrative and computer skills
An appropriate tertiary qualification
More specifically,
The Senior Research Officer (Economist/Budget Analyst) will need to have a good understanding of budgetary, financial and performance reporting requirements of public bodies
The Senior Research Officer (Audit Compliance) will need to have a good understanding of the operating environment of the Auditor-General's Office and practical knowledge of the Audit Act 1994 .
Salary: Level 5.2 $75,768 + 9% superannuation
Term of appointment: Full-time, Fixed Term until December 2010
