Today in the Legislative Council

The Council starts sitting at 9.30 a.m. and General Business takes precedence today. Business likely to be debated is as follows:

(1) Notice of Motion No. 835 standing in the name of Mr Jennings for the production of documents relating to ambulance response times;
(2) Notice of Motion No. 833 standing in the name of Ms Mikakos relating to aged care;
(3) Order of tne Day No. 1 - resumption of debate on a motion relating to the unemployment rate;
(4) Order of the Day No. 2 - resumption of debate on the Members of Parliament (Serious Misconduct) Amendment Bill 2011;
(5) Notice of Motion No. 804 standing in the name of Ms Pennicuik noting a petition to end steeplechase and hurdle racing in Victoria; and
(6) Order of the Day No. 3 - resumption of debate on a motion relating to political donations.

Tuesday, 3 September, 1901

Australian National Flag was raised officially for the first time at the Royal Exhibition Buildings, Melbourne, in the presence of the first Australian Prime Minister, the Hon. Edmund Barton.
