The Terms of Reference for the Inquiry into Pest Plants were published in the Victoria Government Gazette on 30 May 1996. The report was tabled in Parliament on 15 May 1998 (Legislative Assembly) and 19 May 1998 (Legislative Council).

Inquiry Report

The Committee investigated the problem of weeds in Victoria. The Committee reported on:

Impacts of weed on the Victorian economy and environment.
Legislation and agreements relevant to weed management in Victoria.
Current weed management in Victoria.
Roles, responsibilities and cost-sharing for weed management in Victoria.
State-wide priorities for weed management in Victoria.
Enforcement of the Catchment and Land Protection Act 1994.
Classification of noxious weeds under the Catchment and Land Protection Act 1994.
Prevention of sale and distribution of weeds in Victoria.
Roadside weed management.

The report includes a series of recommendations.
