into the Control of Ovine Johne's Disease in VictoriaThe Terms of Reference for the Inquiry into the Control of Ovine Johne's Disease in Victoria were referred to the Committee by Order of the Governor in Council published in the Victorian Government Gazette on 25 February 2000 and subsequently also referred to the Committee by the Legislative Assembly on 14 March 2000. A discussion paper was released in April 2000. The inquiry report was tabled in Parliament on 31 October 2000.

The report outlines
the investigation carried out by the Committee into the Control of OJD in
Victoria. It is divided into five
sections. Part A provides a context
for the Inquiry and includes an overview of the sheep industry in Victoria,
approaches to the management of stock disease, as well as a history of the
spread of OJD and its management in Australia and overseas.
Part B reviews the current Victorian control program and its delivery,
while Part C looks at the disease and control options.
Economic and social issues are addressed in Part D, with the final
section, Part E, including a series of recommendations.
