On 14 March 2007 the Environment and Natural Resources Committee received terms of reference from the Legislative Council to inquire into and report by 30 June 2008 upon the impact of public land management practices on the frequency, scale and intensity of bushfires in Victoria. On 18 July 2007, the terms of reference were amended to include the ‘consequent impact of bushfires on the June/July 2007 Gippsland flood’.

The original closing date for submissions addressing the terms of reference was 25 May 2007. Due to the addition of the flood term of reference, the Committee invites written submissions from the public addressing the new term of reference. The due date for submissions is 17 September 2007.
