Parliament of Victoria Inquiry into the Production and/or Use of Biofuels in Victoria

Contents

On 27 July 2006 the Environment and Natural Resources Committee received terms of reference from the Governor in Council to inquire into the production and use of biofuels for transport applications in Victoria.

The reference required the Committee to inquire into and report to Parliament on a number of issues associated with biofuel use and manufacture in Victoria, including current production and use of biofuels for transport and the barriers to and incentives for increased use of biofuel for transport.

During the inquiry the Committee received 43 written submissions and met with 16 people representing eleven organisations. The final report was tabled in Parliament on 25 October 2006 and contained five recommendations that the Committee believes will assist industry and government to explore the future role of biofuels in Victoria.
