The Clerk |

The Clerk, Wayne Tunnecliffe , is the permanent head of the Department. His responsibilities include:
- Management and administrative oversight of the Legislative Council.
- Providing policy, procedural and management advice to the President and Members of the Legislative Council.
- Maintaining an accurate record of the decisions and proceedings of the Legislative Council.
- Ensuring that the passage of legislation is in accordance with legislative and procedural requirements.
- Acting as a member of the Parliamentary Executive Group.
- Oversight of projects and special events.
- Acting as the Honorary Assistant Secretary to the Victoria Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

The Deputy Clerk |

The Deputy Clerk, Matthew Tricarico , is the deputy head of the Department. His responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Clerk in the day to day management of the Department.
- Assisting the Clerk in providing policy, procedural and management advice to the President and Members of the Council.
- Maintaining an accurate record of the decisions and proceedings of the Legislative Council.
- Maintaining the Register of Members' Interest for the Legislative Council on behalf of the Clerk of the Parliaments.
- Assisting the Clerk with the management of projects and special events.
- Management of the Departmental staffing and finances.

The Assistant Clerk – House and Usher of the Black Rod |

The Assistant Clerk – House and Usher of the Black Rod is Andrew Young. His responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the Table Office, which provides procedural, research, writing and managerial support to the Legislative Council, the President and senior officers of the Department.
- Assisting the Clerk in providing policy, procedural and management advice to the President and Members of the Council.
- Supervising the Parliamentary Attendants and cleaning staff.
- Supervising the editing and production of the Notice paper and Unanswered Questions on Notice booklet, jointly with the Assistant Clerk – Committees.
- Co-ordinating ceremonial events.

The Assistant Clerk - Committees |

The Assistant Clerk – Committees, Stephen Redenbach, assists the Clerk and Deputy Clerk. His responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Clerk in providing policy, procedural and management advice to the President and Members of the Council.
- Supervising the editing and production of the Notice Paper and Unanswered Questions on Notice booklet, jointly with the Assistant Clerk – Procedures and Usher of the Black Rod.
- Recording the Minutes of the Legislative Council in Committee of the Whole.
- Acting as Secretary to the Legislative Council's Legislation Standing Orders and Privileges Committees.
The Assistant Clerk – Committees also has responsibilities in relation to the Parliamentary Committees. These include:
- Supervising the Joint Parliamentary Committees for which the Department is administratively responsible.
- Overseeing the operations of the committees on behalf of the President.
- Provision of accurate and timely advice to the Committees in relation to staffing, financial resources, analysis of evidence and presentations of reports to Parliament.

The Table Office |
 |
The Table Office provides extensive administrative support to the Department, Members and other clients during sitting and non-sitting periods, including the provision of IT services for the Department and documents and other information relating to Council sittings. The Office also supports the work of the Legislation Committee and Select Committees established by the Council from time to time.
The Manager, Chamber Support, Robert McDonald, is responsible for:
- Co-ordination of Table Office operations.
- Answering sitting and general enquiries from clients.
- Production, printing and distribution of documents relating to the sittings of the Legislative Council and other publications.
- Preparation of motions and amendments for the Legislative Council.
- Processing reports submitted for tabling and archiving tabled documents.
- Providing procedural and administrative support to the Legislation Committee and Select Committees.

The Attendants |
 |
The Attendant group is generally responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of offices, meeting rooms and other areas of the Council precincts, the provision of security and enquiry services and a daily courier service within and outside the building.
The Principal Attendant, Russel Bowman , is responsible for:
- Supervison of attendant staff.
- Management of stores.
- Chamber support.
