Minutes of Proceedings

he Minutes of the Proceedings are the official record of proceedings of the Victorian Legislative Council. While Hansard is the official record of what was actually said or debated by the Members, the Minutes are a summary of all the formal actions and decisions of the House.

Recording the Council’s activities is required by Legislative Council Standing Order 20.02 which specifies that all proceedings of the Council will be recorded by the Clerks at the Table, and such records will constitute the Minutes of the Proceedings of the Council.
