Hansard is the record of parliamentary debates.
As the only complete, accurate and permanent record of the debates of Parliament in both houses, Hansard contributes a necessary precision to the affairs of politics and provides an invaluable account of past parliamentary endeavours.
The full text of Victorian Hansard from 1991 onwards is available in this database for research purposes.
Hansard is also available for downloading in PDF format for ease of viewing, printing and copying. Intranet users can download the Word versions of Hansard from 1999 onwards. The pages in these versions match the pages of the hard copies.
The term Hansard is also used to refer to the unit of the Department of Parliamentary Services that publishes the printed record.
