Different messages are sent between the Houses depending on their purpose.
| 1 | Sending a bill. Once the first House has agreed to a bill, it sends a copy of the bill with a message to the other House for consideration and agreement. To see an example of this type of message click here. |

Returning a bill. The second House sends a message back to the first House informing it of its decision, for example, that it has agreed to the bill. To see an example of this type of message click here. |

Resolutions. One House may also send a message asking the other House to agree to a resolution, for example, agreeing that a joint sitting should be held. To see an example of this type of message click here. |
