Question time is a very important part of the sitting day

1 Members.  All members of the House attend question time.

2

Ministers.  Ministers are expected to attend as they are being asked questions on the administration of their portfolios:

·

If a minister is unable to attend the Premier will indicate which minister will answer questions on his/her behalf.

·

If asked a question relating to the administration of a portfolio of a minister from the Legislative Council, a Legislative Assembly minister can answer the question on his/her behalf.

3

The Speaker. The Speaker chairs question time. It can be very disorderly and noisy, with lots of points of order raised and interjections back and forward across the House.
